Geschichte

1930 wurde das Hotel von Luciano als Trattoria gegründet, in der er frittierten Fisch aus dem See servierte.

Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg kam eine manuelle Benzinpumpe hinzu, man erweiterte den Tätigkeitsbereich und von einer einfache Trattoria wurde man zu einem ausgezeichneten Imbiss mit Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten und Trinkwasser. 

Oreste hat sich entschieden das Familienunternehmen weiter zu führen. Er hat die Hotelfachschule in Stresa besucht und Erfahrungen im Ausland gesammelt; 1962 übernimmt er den Betrieb und setzt auf Innovation und höchste Qualität der Produkte. In den darauf folgenden Jahren hat es sich Oreste zum Ziel gesetzt den Ortasee Touristen aus Italien und dem Ausland näher zu bringen.

Mit der Unterstützung seiner Frau Caterina und ihren Kindern Cinzia und Ezio hat der die Tätigkeiten des Hotels und des Restaurants intensivieret.


Cinzia leitet mit ihrem Mann Antonino Cannavacciuolo das "Relais et Chateaux Villa Crespi", ein historischer Landsitz, dessen Küche mit drei Michelin Sternen ausgezeichnet wurde.


Ezio hingegen führt die bereits 80jähige Aktivität weiter; er wird der Betreiber des Hotels Giardinetto und widmet sich der Familientradition mit Leidenschaft.
